A contractor at NATO’s Allied Command Transformation has been diagnosed as clinically positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19), marking the fourth case at the Headquarters and the fifth case for the Command when including European-based staff. The individual is in self-isolation at home and personnel that were in close contact with the index case have been identified and notified as per US CDC guidelines, and are monitoring their health or have been tested. The areas in the workplace that the individual visited have been cleaned using enhanced daily cleaning techniques and the case has been reported to local U.S. military commands as well as public health authorities.

A staff member at NATO’s Allied Command Transformation has been diagnosed as clinically positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19), marking the third case at the Headquarters and the fourth case for the Command when including European-based staff. The individual is in self-isolation at home and personnel that were in close contact with the index case have been identified and notified as per US CDC guidelines and monitoring their health, or have been tested and awaiting results. The areas in the workplace that the individual visited have been cleaned using enhanced daily cleaning techniques and the case has been reported to local U.S. military commands as well as public health authorities.

A staff member at NATO’s Allied Command Transformation has been diagnosed as clinically positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19), marking the second case at the Headquarters and the third case for the Command when including European-based staff. The individual is in self-isolation at home and personnel that were in close contact with the index case have been identified and notified. The case has been reported to local U.S. military commands as well as public health authorities.

A European-based staff member at NATO’s Allied Command Transformation has tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The individual is located in Mons, Belgium and is in self-isolation. Personnel that were in close contact with the individual have been identified and notified. We ask members of the media to respect the privacy of the individual.

Sunday, March 22nd, 2020

A staff member at NATO’s Allied Command Transformation has identified as “presumptive positive” on clinical grounds for the Coronavirus (COVID-19), marking the first potential case at the Command. The individual is in self-isolation. Personnel that were in close contact with the index case have been identified and notified and are in self-isolation. The individual’s work space and areas of Allied Command Transformation are not a risk to staff. The case has been reported to local U.S. military commands as well as public health authorities.

NATO Allied Command Transformation has taken every measure possible to protect the health of our military members, civilians and their families. As such, strict preventative measures are in place to decrease the potential exposure of staff to the virus. Our Command is operating on a distributed working structure and to the greatest extent possible the Command has minimized the number of personnel on site. All official travel by NATO Allied Command Transformation has been suspended. All community relations activities, incoming and outgoing visits and all events and conferences have been cancelled or postponed.

Allied Command Transformation plays a vital role in the security of Allied nations. Command personnel continue to work in an adapted way that reflects the current and evolving situation.
