Warsaw—Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) Gen. Denis Mercier attended the NATO Summit held July 8 and 9, which was a key milestone for the Alliance, heads of state and government officials to demonstrate their commitment to strengthening the Alliance.
SACT, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and the Chairman of Military Committee (CMC) are the military advisors to the NATO Secretary General. They all attended the summit in order to implement political decisions and convert these decisions into strategic assets.
During his time in Warsaw, Gen. Mercier also attended a Munich Security Conference roundtable, which provided an opportunity to discuss ways to increase European Defence cooperation and the future of NATO-Russian relations.
Gen. Mercier also participated in bilateral meeting and informal discussions with the heads of state and government where he shared his views with top political leaders of the Alliance.
